Three car bombs have exploded in mainly Shia areas of Baghdad, killing at least 67 people and injuring more than 120 despite a huge military offensive by US and Iraqi troops.
The US senate has refused to consider a resolution denouncing George Bush's Iraq troop increase that the House of Representatives passed the day before.
As the plight of Iraqi refugees scattered in the Middle East receives increasing international attention, authorities in Amman said they would conduct a survey of Iraqis in the kingdom, including legal and illegal residents.
